This month's clip comes from a great series of collections released by EMI Classics, the "ICON" series. In the spotlight is the incomparable Tito Gobbi, one of the great and most recognizable baritone voices of the twentieth century. I first heard him in his several recordings with Callas, but this collection includes his complete solo recordings, many of which are gems in their own right. Listen to Gobbi, dubbed "the acting voice" by Walter Legge, as he spits out the end of one of the most famous arias of all time, the glorious "Largo al factotum" from Il barbiere di Siviglia.
