There are different types of schlock, and Leroy Anderson was the embodiment of the best kind. With his solid craftsmanship, seemingly effortless sense of line, and winning sense of humor, Anderson knew how to pull all the right strings (!) without ever sounding like a cliche-fest.Here's a sample of one of his more famous silly works - and one which, in the modern era of soft-touch keyboards, harkens back to an earlier time - the paradoxically timeless The Typewriter.
