Sir Charles Mackerras's classic recording of Janáček's Makropulos Case is one of the great gems to come out of the Wiener Philharmoniker in the last 30 years (that's the Vienna Philharmonic to you!). With a stellar cast headed by Elisabeth Söderström, Peter Dvorský, and Beno Blachut. A truly extraordinary work, brought vividly to life in this fantastic performance.
